  • 1 lb dried fish anchovy (dilis)
  • 2 cups cooking oil
  • 1 bottle banana ketchup net wt 12 oz (340g)
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper powder

Instructions
 

  • Remove excess salt from dried Dilis by rinsing it twice or more with fresh water.
  • Preheat oil in a deep pan on a medium heat.
  • Add dilis and fry for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Drain oil and set aside.
  • On a separate pan, heat up the banana ketchup then add fried dilis. Mix well to evenly coat dilis with the sauce. Fry for 5 minutes.
  • Add sugar and cayenne pepper. Stir and fry for another 5 minutes or until sugar has caramelized.
