Ginisang Upo with Pork

Ginisang Upo with Pork is a simple yet delicious dish that is widely enjoyed in the Philippines. It is easy to make and requires minimal ingredients, yet it provides a full-bodied, flavorful meal that is sure to satisfy any palate.

How to Cook Ginisang Upo with Pork

The main ingredient in this dish is upo, which is a type of squash native to the Philippines. It has a mild flavor, creamy texture, and can easily be cooked in various ways. When combined with pork and other vegetables, such as onions and garlic, it makes for an incredibly tasty meal that will fill up your stomach quickly.

Before you start cooking your Ginisang Upo with Pork dish, it’s important to have all the ingredients ready. Start by dicing the pork into small cubes and set aside. Peel and dice the onion and garlic into small pieces as well. Cut the upo into 1-inch cubes or thin slices depending on how you like it. Measure out one tablespoon of oil for cooking and prepare any other seasonings or spices you want to add (fish sauce, oyster sauce). Once everything is ready, you can begin cooking your Ginisang Upo with Pork!

Begin by heating up one tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Then add in the diced pork cubes and cook until they are browned on all sides (about 5 minutes). Next, add in the diced onions, garlic, tomatoes and continue cooking for another 5 minutes until all of the flavors have combined nicely together. Finally, add in the upo cubes (or thin slices) along with any extra seasonings or spices you desire (fish sauce/oyster sauce) and water. Cook everything together for about 10 more minutes or until desired tenderness has been reached.

Eating Ginisang Upo with Pork provides multiple nutritional benefits due to its combination of proteins from pork, vitamins from vegetables, minerals from fish sauce/oyster sauce if used), and carbohydrates from squash itself. Additionally, this dish does not require much added fats or oils due to its minimal use of oil during preparation so there’s no need to worry about consuming excessive amounts of calories either! All in all this dish provides an excellent way to get your daily nutrition without consuming too many unhealthy ingredients!
