The peanut butter and jelly sandwich, also known as the PB&J, is one of the most popular sandwich varieties in America. The classic version consists of two slices of bread with a layer of peanut butter spread on one side and a layer of jelly (typically grape) spread on the other.
First, you'll need three slices of bread - preferably white or wheat - as well as some peanut butter, your favorite jam or jelly (or both!), and a knife to spread the ingredients on the bread.
To begin, take out one slice of the bread and spread a generous layer of peanut butter across its surface using either a spoon or the back of a knife. Set aside.
Next, take out another sliced bread. Open up your jam jar and scoop out enough to spread on one side of the bread. Take care not to use too much; otherwise it will make your sandwich soggy! Then, place it on top of the first sliced bread with peanut butter.
Finally, take out your third piece of bread and place it atop the second slice so that they create one delicious sandwich: voila!
