Ingredients
  

  • 8 ounce elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups broccoli florets chopped
  • 2 tbsp butter salted
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • cup bread crumbs for topping

Instructions
 

  • Bring water to a boil in a pot.
  • Add the macaroni and cook according to the package instructions.
  • During the last 2 minutes of cooking, add the broccoli to the pot.
  • Drain the macaroni and broccoli.

Now, let's move on to the cheesy goodness:

  • In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Stir in flour, onion powder, salt, and pepper to create a flavorful base.
  • Gradually add milk while stirring until slightly thickened (about 5 minutes).
  • Add cheddar cheese and continue stirring over low-medium heat until completely melted (about 2 minutes).

Bringing it all together:

  • Add the drained macaroni and broccoli into the cheese sauce.
  • Stir for about 2 more minutes until everything is well coated.
  • Remove from heat and transfer to a serving bowl.
